A Call
for Help! |
|
Dear
Friends,
You
may have heard by now that Patsy Rasmussen, AC7I, has not been well for
some time. She was taking her illness in stride one day at a time.
A few months ago, her body said enough and she ended up in the hospital.
Her diagnosis was pretty grim. While this news is pretty hard to
take, Patsy & Raz (W7RAZ) are looking into other alternatives to see what if
anything can be done.
Anyone who knows Pasty and Raz, know that they don't like to ask for
help. But the time has come that they need help and they are
turning to friends and family. Because of recent events, Patsy is
nearly immobilized and Raz cannot leave her side. As a result, Raz
has not been able to work to bring in the small income they need.
Patsy has applied for disability and her social worker said it should go
through fairly quickly because of the diagnosis. However, it still
takes time and Raz hasn't worked in several weeks. They're asking
if anyone has a small amount they could share just to help with the
basics like gas money and basic bills.
A
donation account has been set up at Key Bank. You can donate to
the “Patsy Rasmussen Donation Account” or
to the account number: 124441010749 at any Key Bank. Patsy & Raz
have been given a Debit Card so they can use the funds as needed.
Please feel free to donate as much or as often as you like. Our
friends Pat and Raz have donated much in time, labor, and money in doing
club work, organizing the Idaho State Convention, and to the benefit of
the general ham community. It is time to help them out and to feel
good for doing it.
Please keep Pasty and Raz in your prayers.
We thank you in advance
for your help.

Welcome!
Enlightening
Does Strike Twice!
The second annual
Idaho State Convention was held April 23-25, 2010, in Boise,
Idaho.
We had nearly 500
people attend this year, resulting in another successful convention.
From "hands-on" technical workshops to informative seminars, there
was something for everyone.
Attendees enjoyed
the Friday evening spaghetti dinner and seminar with E.E. Van
Valkenberg who shared his experiences as Chief Communicator on Air
Force One.
Our Saturday night banquet featured a delicious sit
down dinner of either steak, chicken, or salmon. The banquet
concluded with an informative presentation about ham radio
on-board the space shuttle and the international space station by
"Teacher-in-Space" program candidate Dave Marquart.
Numerous vendors set
up booths which allowed us to actually see some of the radio and
other equipment in person. We extend our thanks to these
vendors for taking the time to display at the convention.
Over 20 radios were
given away as prizes; see our Prize Winners
page for details.
If you missed this
year's convention, be sure to attend the next one in 2011.
Thank you for
visiting our web site and we hope to see you at the 2011 Idaho
State Convention.
